Full checklist to have a successful room inspection
Last updated 1 day ago
Use this guide when investigating a guest concern or during a scheduled room inspection.
Check all Valpas smart and basic bed legs for signs of bed bugs.
Inspect sheets and bedding for small blood spots or dark stains. Ensure the bedding hasn’t been changed before inspection.
Remove the sheet and mattress pad, then examine all corners of the mattress and box spring.
Inspect the edging, seams, and labels on the mattress and box spring.
Use a flashlight to check between the headboard and wall. Inspect the entire headboard from top to bottom.
Flip over the box spring. Remove any dust covers and inspect the bed frame and interior. Bed bugs often hide in joints and corners.
Inspect nearby furniture including seams, cracks, crevices, joints, and screw holes. Flip furniture to check underneath.
Empty drawers and nightstands. Examine inside, outside, and underneath the furniture.
Check the perimeter of the room. Look along baseboards and edges of carpets. Lift the carpet where possible.
Inspect resting areas like couches, recliners, and lounge chairs—especially seams and folds.
Check luggage racks thoroughly, including joints and support straps.
Look behind picture frames and wall-mounted decor.
Inspect lamps and electrical devices. Look around sockets and switch plates.
Examine ceiling corners and seams in wallpaper.
Inspect around door and window frames.
Check curtains and drapes, especially folds and pleats.
Inspect power sockets and surrounding areas.
