# Sections of the Valpas mobile app
## **To log in to the Valpas mobile app, please follow these steps:**

### Open the Valpas mobile app
Launch the app on your device.

Type your email address in the field provided.\
Make sure it’s spelled correctly before continuing.

### Check your email for a login code
Open your email inbox and look for a message from **Valpas.**\
If you don’t see it, please check your spam or junk folder.

### Enter the code in the app
Go back to the Valpas app and type the code in the **“Enter code”** field.\
Tap **“Submit code”** to proceed.

The app will automatically verify the code and log you in.

## The different sections of the Valpas mobile app:
The app has four sections, shown in the bar at the bottom of the screen: **Rooms**, **Tasks**, **Guests** and **Profile**.
## 1. Rooms
The Rooms view lists every room in your hotel. Search for a room by its number or by a cassette serial number, or tap the scan icon to scan a QR code instead.
Each room shows one dot per cassette, coloured by that cassette's status:
* **Green**: the cassette is protecting the room.
* **Purple**: a prevention task is waiting.
* **Yellow**: a maintenance task is waiting, such as a low battery.
* **Grey**: the cassette is offline.
Tap a room to open it. The room view shows each bed with its cassettes, and for every cassette you can see its position (**L** or **R**), its serial number and its battery level. When a cassette has a task waiting, its card shows the task and a **Start** button that opens the instructions.

## 2. Tasks
The Tasks view lists everything that needs to be resolved. Each task can be completed using the mobile app.
Each card shows the room number, the task, and how long the task has been open. The coloured dot means the same thing as in the Rooms view.
* **Prevention**: something needs your attention in the room, such as completing a prevention or inspecting the room.
* **Maintenance**: a cassette needs servicing, for example resetting it or changing its batteries.
* **Restore connection**: one or more cassettes are offline. These are grouped into a single card at the top of the list, so you can resolve them together.
Use the **Prevention** and **Maintenance** filters to show one type at a time, and **Sort by** to change the order.
**Create a list** lets you build your own shortlist of rooms to work through, which is useful when you are covering a floor or a wing. Pick the rooms with **Select rooms**, and the filter then shows only those rooms. Its label changes to **My list** with the number of rooms you chose.
## 3. Guests
The Guests view helps you answer a guest who raises a concern about bed bugs. Tap **Choose room** and pick the guest's room.
The app shows you that room's digital certificate, then asks **what caused the guest concern**:
* **Guest reports verbally**: the guest describes bites, rashes or a general concern.
* **Guest provided photos or videos**.
* **Live bed bugs in the room**.
* **Other**, where you describe the situation in your own words.
Based on your answer, the app prepares a response for you. It shows the room's certificate and, where it helps, an explanation of how Valpas keeps the room safe. From there you can:
* **Create room inspection task**, which adds the inspection to your task list.
* **Document evidence**, to upload the guest's photos for the Valpas team to review.
* **Copy email address**, which gives you a unique address to copy in when the guest emails their own photos. Anything sent there is reviewed by Valpas and added to the room inspection.
## 4. Profile
The Profile view holds your settings and support options:
* **Contact us**: reach the Valpas team by email or WhatsApp, and open this guide.
* **Changelog**: see what has changed in recent versions of the app.
* **Notifications settings**: manage your notifications. Allow the Valpas mobile app to send them, so you hear about prevention and maintenance tasks as they appear.
* **Installation mode**: add rooms, add beds, and pair cassettes by scanning their QR codes. This is also where you check whether your hotel's network is online.
* **Language**: choose the app language.
* **Help & Support**, **Clear cache** and **Log out**.
## Taking pictures
When performing prevention tasks using the Valpas mobile app, one important step involves capturing a picture.
**To capture a picture, follow these steps:**
1. Aim the camera towards the area or object that needs to be documented for the prevention.
2. Once the subject is properly framed, tap the camera shutter button to capture the image.
3. The captured image will be sent to the specialists for further evaluation.
4. The Valpas specialists will review the image and determine if any additional actions are required.
5. If further actions are needed, the Valpas specialists will send you additional instructions or notifications through the app.
It's important to ensure that the captured image is clear and includes all relevant details necessary for the prevention task. Make sure there is sufficient lighting and that the subject of the prevention is in focus within the picture frame.
The actual app interface may have additional features or variations.
